SPRING DAY Competition
European Schoolnet Spring Day team ha annunciato i 9 vincitori della
iniziativa Primavera dell'Europa avente come obiettivo l'aumento del
coinvolgimento di studenti e insegnanti nella definizione di una nuova
Europa tramite la Convenzione europea.
L'iniziativa Primavera dell'Europa è stata sviluppata in collaborazione
con i Ministeri dell'Istruzione dei Paesi membri e supportata dal
Segretariato Generale della Commissione europea.
Alla cerimonia di premiazione, che si svolgerà a Bruxelles il giorno 6
giugno 2003, saranno premiati i primi 3 progetti delle 3 categorie indicate nella competizione.
Il nostro Paese ha conseguito, su ben 5500 progetti presentati,
un secondo premio per la prima categoria, grazie all'ITIS MALIGNANI di Udine.
Category 1: Best Spring Day Debate in Collaboration with Other Schools
1 - Future of Europe
Lithuania, Austria, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia
Pupils from 8 countries have tried to discuss and express together, either
in writing or through other creative means of expression, what the future of Europe should be like for all young people.

2- Spring Day, the day of reborn Europe
Italy Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom
This is a synchronous debate experience between 4 schools on March 21. Video conferencing systems connected all the participants during the day and pupils could see each other while discussing serious questions on Europe and its future.

Crete
Two schools from Heraklion, Crete, organised a discussion on the notion of
"unity" for the European Union. On March 21, they all met and drew
conclusions from all the questions and answers, suggestions and fears raised before Spring Day.

Category 2: Best Vision of the Future - Europe 2025
1- Best Vision of the future - Europe 2025
Poland
860 Polish pupils have put together a complete web site dated May 9 2025,
providing news about politics, sports, society, the EU, the world, and of
course games and fun. The most amazing achievement is the true futuristic
and also realistic atmosphere created by the entry.

Slovakia
This animated presentation tries to map the developments of the European
Continent since prehistoric ages and expresses the hope that in 2025 the EU
will be united, peaceful and prosperous after so many turbulent years.

3- Future of Europe
Turkey
Eight students have set up a web site about Europe in 2025. Each of them
wrote articles about what life could be like in 2025. They have tried to
explain possible future impacts of EU policies on member states and the rest of the world.

Category 3: Best teaching and Learning material about Europe
1- Spring Day in Europe Board Game
Romania
This highly transferable game aims at helping to improve the knowledge of
EU, new EU countries and applicants. It consists of three modules and
guidelines for teachers: a board game, background information and a quiz.

2: Jeu de l'Oie
France
This very old traditional dice game is associated to sets of multiple-choice questions on all European countries. Not only is it fun to learn but the principle can easily be transferred and adapted to any school in the world.

3- Yo Soy Europa
Spain
This site shows how the team involved the whole school, from primary to
secondary pupils, in a writing competition personifying Europe, and designed a pedagogical unit to get to know Europe better.
